When it comes to stirring up controversy, nothing gets the left-wing establishment more riled up than a new appointment by their favorite nemesis, Donald Trump. Recently, the political scene was set ablaze with the confirmation of Cash Patel as the new FBI director. That’s right, folks, the man with a flair for declassification and a keen eye on government shenanigans is now at the helm of arguably the most scrutinized agency in Washington. Naturally, the Democrats are in pure panic mode, spiraling into full-blown hysteria. And why not? Patel’s crusade to declassify more than just dusty old files is as terrifying to them as garlic to a vampire.
The Democrats played their classic hit record of outrage, their brittle nerves shattering at Patel’s audacious plans to unfurl the veil on information they’d rather keep buried. His proposal for a 24/7 declassification office is like nails on a chalkboard to their secrecy-loving souls. From the JFK files to the infamous Epstein client list, it’s all on the table with Cash in charge. But the so-called progressives, who claim to be all about transparency, seem less than thrilled at the prospect.
Senator Chris Murphy led the charge against Patel, hyperventilating over Patel’s apparent entrepreneurial spirit. Heaven forbid an FBI director who dares to have his own merchandise, a logo that reads “K $ H”! The man’s a brand, after all, a refreshing splash of color in a sea of gray suits. It’s astonishing to see such pearl-clutching by those who themselves peddle overpriced memorabilia with as much eagerness as their political messages. It seems speaking the truth and marketing it makes one a hero these days, especially when you’re selling to those pesky MAGA conspiracy theorists.
Meanwhile, comedian-turned-political-commentator John Oliver, even in his lofty tower of late-night satire, couldn’t help but drag his bewilderment out for a spin. But when your opposition is prone to lugging around effigies and protesting cost-cutting, there’s not much room left for substance or sanity. The land of contradictions grows richer with every Democratic lamentation over cutting waste and fraud, while simultaneously spending billions on services for illegal aliens. Go figure!
Even more amusing is the outrage over the idea, whispered by the clever minds in Trumpland, of handing savings back to the American people. It’s amazing what sense of entitlement can do to one’s perspective when you’re used to the fine life of backroom deals and insider trading. The Democrats’ response to a potential $5,000 windfall for citizens? Outrage, disbelief, and a refusal to let go of their hard-won grip on government largesse. Because when you’ve been peddling the illusion of virtue at the taxpayer’s expense, the prospect of accountability hits harder than a truth bomb on CNN’s airwaves.
