A reported 1 in 5 war veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan return home with PTSD. Kim talks with Chris Merkle, a Marine serving in Iraq and Afghanistan for 14 years, who used virtual reality to work through his post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and find peace.

VR therapy can help veterans step back into the scenarios that have caused the most stress, Chris says, which can start the healing process. Hear about Chris’ experience and how other soldiers are using the technology developed by Albert “Skip” Rizzo, PhD, director of Medical Virtual Reality at the Institute for Creative Technologies at the University of Southern California.
