France Wants Statue of Liberty Back as Trump Stands Strong Against Demands

A French politician made a bizarre demand this week, asking America to give back the Statue of Liberty. But the Trump administration wasn’t having it. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fired back with a bold reminder of American strength.

Raphaël Glucksmann, a little-known French lawmaker, claimed the U.S. no longer deserved the statue because America sides with “tyrants.” He tried to shame President Trump’s policies on immigration and scientific research. Leavitt shut him down hard. She pointed out that without American soldiers fighting in World War II, France might be speaking German today.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France in 1886 to celebrate freedom. But now some in France want to take it back because they don’t like Trump’s America-First approach. Leavitt made it clear President Trump would never let that happen. She called Glucksmann a “low-level” politician who should focus on thanking America instead of attacking it.

Liberals in Europe are upset because Trump put America’s needs first. He cut wasteful spending on foreign wars and pulled back from endless conflicts like Ukraine. Glucksmann supports more U.S. involvement overseas, but Trump knows better. He’s working to end the Ukraine conflict by negotiating directly with Russia’s President Putin.

The French politician also complained about Trump’s cuts to government agencies. But those cuts stopped bureaucrats from wasting taxpayer money. Now France wants to hire those fired researchers. Good luck with that. America’s success comes from freedom, not big government.

Some liberals say the Statue of Liberty represents open borders. But Trump’s secure borders protect American values better than any statue. Letting anyone walk in unchecked isn’t “freedom” – it’s chaos. Trump’s policies keep Americans safe while honoring our history.

Glucksmann’s demands are just another European attack on U.S. sovereignty. The Trump administration stands strong against globalist bullying. Leavitt’s sharp response shows we won’t apologize for putting Americans first.

The Statue of Liberty isn’t going anywhere. It’s a symbol of America’s enduring greatness. Thanks to leaders like President Trump, that symbol will keep shining for generations. Meanwhile, maybe France should focus on its own problems instead of lecturing the nation that saved them twice.
