Kamala’s Cringe Tape: Dems Desperate for Youth Appeal

In the world of political circus acts, the Democrats seem to be auditioning for a new star in the 2028 election, and trust them to bring in a medley of potential candidates that no one quite saw coming. It’s an interesting ensemble, featuring the likes of Hunter Biden, Stephen Colbert, and somehow even whispers of a panda—though that last one might just accidentally have wandered onto the stage. It’s a production that promises to be as entertaining as it is puzzling, as the party grapples with its next move.

First up, the mention of Hunter Biden shouldn’t surprise anyone familiar with political dynasties. Typically, they are kept polished and out of scandalous headlines, but Hunter, with his colorful past, does things a bit differently. The Democrats may not shy away from a candidate with baggage, and why not? He’s been in the news more than some current politicians, and if we’ve learned anything, no press is bad press—apparently.

Then we have Stephen Colbert being thrown into the mix, turning the 2028 race into what might look like more of a late-night comedy gig than a run for the highest office in the land. Some Democrats think this is a genius move. After all, who wouldn’t want the commander-in-chief to have killer timing and a slick monologue every now and then? But maybe they’re forgetting that politics isn’t exactly stand-up comedy, and reading sarcasm off a teleprompter is a little different from, say, managing a country.

Kamala Harris also gets a mention for her efforts at staying relevant, with attempts to energize the younger voters. Unfortunately, the priorities at their youth summits seem a bit out of touch with what most folks are concerned about. The Democrats appear bent on addressing climate change and pronouns—important issues, sure, but perhaps not as urgent to everyday voters as they imagine. Throw in a mention of furries and you’ve got a youth summit that seems more like an odd fashion show than a platform for viable solutions.

Amidst this somewhat theatrical prelude to the 2028 election, you can’t help but wonder if the Democrats are trying too hard to break the mold. Running the likes of Hunter Biden, with his suitcase of peculiarities, or a comedian like Colbert, feels like a move straight out of an entertainment executive’s playbook, rather than a serious political strategy. They’re eschewing seasoned professionals and perhaps mistaking novelty for electability.

As preparations begin and the Democrats look for their new headliner, the rest of the country watches, some with popcorn in hand. The coming years promise a spectacle that might not only redefine political campaigning but may offer unexpected comedic value. It’s anyone’s guess who’ll take center stage, but one thing’s certain: 2028 is shaping up to be anything but dull.
