California Democrats just passed another dangerous bill that could destroy American families. Assembly Bill 495 sounds nice with its fancy name “Family Preparedness Plan Act.” But this law is a Trojan horse designed to steal children from their parents.
The bill lets almost anyone claim they can make decisions for your kids. Distant relatives you barely know can suddenly have power over your children. Even strangers who claim they have a “mentoring relationship” with your family can take control. No proof needed.
Democrats say this helps families during deportations or when parents get arrested. That sounds caring, but the bill’s language is so vague it applies to almost any situation. If you can’t be reached for a few hours, someone else could make medical and school decisions for your child without your permission.
The law doesn’t even define what “unable to contact” means. Maybe your phone battery died during a work meeting. Maybe you’re stuck in traffic without cell service. Under this bill, that could be enough for someone to claim authority over your kids.
This is what happens when radical leftists run a state government. They hate traditional families and want government bureaucrats and random strangers making decisions about your children. They’re using immigration as an excuse to attack parental rights for everyone.
