A Democratic congresswoman from New Jersey learned the hard way that attacking federal agents has consequences. Rep. LaMonica McIver was charged with assault after getting into a fight with ICE officers outside a detention center. The whole mess was caught on body cameras for everyone to see.
McIver was protesting with other Democrats and Newark’s mayor at an ICE facility on May 9th. Instead of peaceful protest, things got ugly fast. The congresswoman started pushing and shoving federal agents who were just doing their jobs.
Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba didn’t mess around when she filed charges. McIver faces serious federal charges for assaulting and blocking law enforcement officers. The video evidence shows exactly what happened and who started the trouble.
Of course McIver is crying that the charges are political. That’s what liberals always do when they face consequences for their actions. They break the law then play victim when justice comes knocking.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem made it crystal clear that nobody gets special treatment. She said anyone who attacks law enforcement will face the full weight of the law. It doesn’t matter if you’re in Congress or not.
These ICE agents risk their lives every day protecting our borders and enforcing immigration law. They deserve respect, not attacks from radical politicians who hate law and order. McIver’s behavior was disgraceful and un-American.
This is what happens when Democrats think they’re above the law. They encourage lawlessness and attack the brave men and women keeping us safe. Their anti-police attitude finally caught up with one of them.
Patriots across America are cheering this prosecution. It’s time politicians learned they can’t assault federal officers and get away with it. Law and order is back, and troublemakers like McIver will pay the price.
