Kimmel’s Dark Side: The Late-Night Host Who Cheers for Chaos

The left’s favorite late-night bully is finally being exposed for what he has always been: a partisan entertainer who cheered when American property was targeted and sneered when frightened Americans made health choices for themselves. Resurfaced clips of Jimmy Kimmel mocking the vandalism of Tesla dealerships and openly suggesting unvaccinated people deserve to be left to die have exploded across social platforms just as ABC briefly pulled his show, and conservatives are right to point out the pattern.

One clip shows Kimmel delivering a sarcastic plea — “Please don’t vandalize, don’t ever vandalize Tesla vehicles” — and letting the laughter and cheers sit in the air like approval for what many Americans see as criminality. That moment from earlier this year was picked apart online as evidence that elite comedians don’t merely joke about political violence; they normalize it to friendly audiences.

It gets worse when you dig back to the pandemic-era monologues where Kimmel declared that unvaccinated people “don’t deserve” ICU beds and joked “rest in peace, wheezy” about those who chose different treatments. Those weren’t throwaway lines; they revealed a contempt for individual liberty and a willingness to let people suffer rather than defend basic fairness in medical care.

Conservatives alarmed by the cancel culture spectacle that followed his recent comments about the Charlie Kirk assassination shouldn’t be accused of hypocrisy for pointing out Kimmel’s own long record of dehumanizing opponents. ABC’s decision to pull the show — and the affiliate backlash that pressured that move — didn’t happen in a vacuum; it happened after weeks of the host using his platform to sneer at Americans who don’t share his politics.

Even private figures called Kimmel out: Elon Musk publicly dismissed his brand of late-night virtue-signaling after Kimmel’s joke about Tesla’s troubles, signaling that big-name targets won’t quietly accept being mocked while property and livelihoods are threatened. That response from public figures shows this isn’t a left-versus-right culture skirmish but a mainstream rejection of cheering for vandalism.

This is about accountability, not silence. When a national entertainer repeatedly uses millions of viewers to celebrate the destruction of cars and to revel in the misfortune of the sick, networks and advertisers need to ask whether they want that association, and Americans should decide with their eyeballs and wallets. No one is calling for censorship of opinion; we’re demanding consequences when speech crosses into celebration of violence and cruelty.

If the media elite want to lecture the rest of America about decency, they should start by practicing it themselves. Hardworking patriots won’t apologize for defending victims of vandalism, for protecting doctors and nurses from political theater, or for insisting that comedy shouldn’t come at the expense of basic human dignity. The resurfaced clips of Kimmel are a wake-up call: the entertainment industrial complex has long tolerated, enabled, and rewarded contempt for conservatives — and it’s finally meeting pushback.
