In the latest episode of “Who Wants to be a Conservative Hero?”, Brett Tombul (née Cooper) has stepped onto the stage, charming a massive audience who were searching for a new voice. Her journey from Daily Wire darling to independent YouTube influencer has been a sight to behold. Conceived in the cozy, well-lit productions of a studio – rather than an actual teenage girl’s bedroom as many might have believed – Tombul spread her cultural warrior wings and soared into the digital realm. Her fans rallied as she launched her independent venture, racking up over a million subscribers faster than you could say, “I TOLD YOU SO!”
Now, one might argue that Brett Tombul is more than just a Shapiro clone in this politically-charged landscape. While some conservatives are busy throwing dollar bills at a foreign nation’s wall and labeling anyone who questions it as anti-Semitic, Tombul seems to offer a fresh take – and it’s causing quite the stir. Recently, she shook the conservative community with a bold critique of some of its biggest talking heads, not sparing a former employer either. Funny how the second you start speaking your mind, you’re suddenly tagged with all sorts of incendiary labels by the very people who are supposed to be on your side.
Everyone’s playing the sitcom game, apparently. This past week, the Republican Jewish Coalition conference had all the ingredients of a hit comedy series. Politicians who unironically think they can stare down America’s Israel fatigue by labeling dissenters anti-Semitic had the audience almost expecting a laugh track to kick in. According to Brett and swathes of conservatives, maybe, just maybe, the focus should shift slightly towards home-grown issues rather than outsourcing their activism to international concerns with a seemingly bottomless budget.
Randy Fine, the joyously over-enthusiastic Florida representative, got put in Tombul’s crosshairs this time. He’s the quintessential example of someone who becomes more attached to the foreign causes than to the freedoms supposed to be upheld. He’s all about introducing bills that creep towards criminalizing free speech if it even hints at criticism. Brett, always the class act, suggested a lovely one-way trip to the land Fine loves best. After all, who wouldn’t want to spend eternity singing “Kumbaya” with Mike Huckabee, right?
As the proverbial spotlight continues to shine, showcasing the schisms within conservatism, conservatives like Brett Tombul are pioneering their own brands of truth-telling. They’re showing that shaking a finger and screaming “anti-Semite!” at any criticism is a tactic better left to the tactics of the leftist playbook. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess who’s going to be the next platform heavyweight to face down the pitchfork-wielding purveyors of eternal orthodoxy within the GOP ranks. One thing is clear: as long as Brett Tombul has a camera and a satirical smile, the show will go on.
