A stomach?turning clip that first surfaced months ago has detonated back into the public square: a woman’s TikTok from a Concord Planet Fitness shows the shadow of a person inside a women’s stall appearing to perform a sexual act while women were in the room. The footage, which was originally posted in May 2024 and recently went viral again, forced the gym patrons who witnessed it to confront the situation and has left women across the country asking how this was allowed to happen.
The woman who recorded the footage, identified in coverage as Grace Hutson, says she reported the incident to staff at the time but that employees seemed bewildered and ineffective, leaving her boyfriend to step in and confront the individual. No criminal charges were pressed then, and Planet Fitness has not publicly announced any disciplinary action, which only deepens suspicions that corporate “inclusivity” policies are trumping basic safety.
This is not an isolated episode of confusion: Planet Fitness’s public policy allows members to use locker rooms that match their self?reported gender identity, and California law similarly protects such access — even when women feel violated and unsafe. That policy choice has consequences in shared spaces where privacy and decency should be nonnegotiable, and these consequences are being played out in real time inside locker rooms and restrooms.
Americans of conscience should be enraged, not gaslit. When corporate America and activist elites prioritize ideological box?checking over the safety and dignity of women and girls, ordinary citizens pay the price. This isn’t compassion; it’s abdication of responsibility that leaves vulnerable people exposed and normalizes behavior that would have been unacceptable in any sane society.
If you care about commonsense protections, now is the time to act — not just tweet. Demand accountability from Planet Fitness and other chains that enforce self?identification policies without clear safeguards, push for local enforcement that treats lewd behavior as criminal regardless of identity claims, and support legislation that preserves single?sex spaces where privacy and safety are critical. Neutral slogans and corporate PR cannot replace laws and policies that protect the public.
Hutson herself has said she now regrets not calling law enforcement at the time, a painful confession that should remind every woman to insist on decisive responses from management and police when boundaries are crossed. There is no reason victims should feel they must stay silent for fear of being branded intolerant; common decency and criminal statutes exist precisely to stop this kind of predatory conduct.
Liberty and safety are not opposing values. Protecting women’s spaces is a basic, nonpartisan demand rooted in biology and decency, and it should not be sacrificed to the altar of performative progressivism. Parents, taxpayers, and gym members must make their voices heard — through membership cancellations, corporate pressure campaigns, and, most importantly, at the ballot box.
Hardworking Americans know what’s right: a woman should be able to change, shower, and use a restroom without fearing invasive sexual behavior from a male body in her space. If the elites won’t protect us, then we will — by organizing, speaking up, and electing leaders who put safety and common sense ahead of ideology.
