Black America Turns Away from Latest ‘George Floyd’ Narrative

In the latest saga of progressive politics, we find ourselves witnessing something quite unique. The left seems to be in a desperate search for a new George Floyd, a new figurehead to rally around. Their latest attempt? Renee Good. Now, on paper, Renee appears to be an interesting candidate. A left-wing white liberal woman, tragically gunned down by ICE during an attempted act of violence against one of their agents. It sounds like the kind of story that would ignite the kindling of outrage in Hollywood and set the streets ablaze with protestors. But this narrative has not fully taken flight, and there are reasons why.

First, let’s tackle the intersectional hierarchy that the progressive left holds so dear. Here we have protesters openly questioning whether they should even be protesting for a white woman in the first place. It seems there’s a pecking order in the world of social justice, and, according to the hierarchy of victimhood, a privileged white woman like Renee just doesn’t quite rank high enough. Some protestors expressed feelings of privilege guilt, unsure of whether their tears even matter in the grand scheme of protests that should be centered on black and brown experiences. It’s a classic case of selective outrage, where the support wanes if the figure doesn’t fit the narrative perfectly.

In an interesting twist, it seems that not even all black Americans are on board with this new figure of resistance. One vocal critic pointed out the stark reality: these protests might not be worth their time. They suggested that supporting movements spearheaded by those who’ve been victims their entire lives might make more sense, rather than following a fleeting cause championed by white liberals. It’s a telling moment when even potential allies in the liberal camp are hesitant to rally.

It’s also important to note that no one, not even Renee’s defenders, can seem to agree on the moral standing of her actions. Was her demise a result of standing up against perceived oppression, or simply the outcome of a reckless and dangerous decision? As one commenter observed, she wasn’t exactly thinking of her children when she allegedly drove at a federal officer. Such pragmatic views undercut the “icon” status the left wishes to bestow upon Renee.

So where does this leave the liberal media and their pursuit of the next big protest icon? In chaos, perhaps. It seems the left isn’t as united as they preach, and their troubles with choosing a banner to rally around are all too evident. While the media and Hollywood may continue to try and paint Renee Good as a martyr for justice, her story lacks the traction and authenticity needed to capture the hearts of all Americans. The saga gives conservatives a front-row seat to the complex world of progressive politics, where one’s place on the ladder of victimhood seems to dictate worthiness of protest and support.
