Instead of actively contributing to practical solutions, he’s busy chastising those trying to carry out the duties mandated by federal law. The senator recently showcased a less-than-flattering sermon against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), surely winning applause from his progressive audience, but leaving the commonsense crowd scratching their heads.
While Ossoff dedicates his energy to grandstanding against ICE and their efforts nationwide, incredibly alarming incidents are occurring right in his own backyard. Take the case of Kenneth Moreno Guzman, an illegal immigrant accused of a horrific crime involving young children in Georgia. One might think a senator would want to, at the very least, acknowledge this and express some concern. But no, Ossoff appears silent, awash in the issues of sanctuary policies that ultimately allowed such acts to happen. Is anyone at home paying attention, or is the echo chamber too deafening?
It’s baffling that someone entrusted with representing a diverse state like Georgia would consistently overlook the local impact of his party’s broader policies, especially those that effectively support illegal immigration. In tough-on-crime Georgia, where families desire safety, it’s curious why their elected representative seems more moved by events several states away, rather than the alarming criminal acts happening at home.
What truly grates on the nerves is how the pattern is repetitively blatant. Recent headlines noted the tragic murder of a college student by an illegal immigrant, another case highlighting the inefficacy of sanctuary policies. Again, silence from the senator. This leaves one wondering: Is Jon Ossoff truly representing the Georgians who elected him, or is he simply another cog in the Democratic machine? As election season beckons, Georgians have a clear choice to make. Let’s hope they choose wisely, for their sake and for the greater good of the state.
