In a whirlwind of bizarre twists and a justice system doing its thing, Ryan Ralph, a name that echoes more like a character from a spy thriller than reality, just got sentenced to life in prison plus 84 months. You heard that right, folks. Not entirely sure how they plan to pull off keeping someone in prison for life and then some extra years, but it definitely sounds like a plot twist straight out of Hollywood. But unlike a bad sequel, this time, common sense and justice prevailed.
For those out of the loop, Ryan Ralph had some audacious plans. We’re not talking about trying to sneak an extra cookie from the jar; this guy was set on something way bigger — attempting multiple assassination plots against the former president. First, he cozied up to Trump’s golf course armed and apparently ready for action. Luckily, the Secret Service stepped in, taking care of business before Ralph’s wild ideas turned into something deadly.
His digital escapades, which read like a technicolor fever dream, even included plotting to down Trump’s plane with help from the Ukrainian military. How he planned to get his hands on RPGs and communicate with the military from Ukraine remains one of those head-scratching questions. Maybe he thought he was in an action movie with sneaky international phone calls and clandestine meetings. Who knows?
Now, while he was pitching these grandiose plans on how to swap his life to free prisoners worldwide — not the kind of selfless heroism one would expect, but maybe he was aiming for brownie points — the courtroom wasn’t buying it. During his trial, he even attempted to off himself with a ballpoint pen. While he seemed to have taken a page out of the “Dramatic Courtroom Moments” playbook, the reality was far less glamorous.
What’s incredible is how the political divide couldn’t be more obvious in reactions. Despite his background as a Joe Biden voter, one would think attempting a high-profile crime like this would draw more attention. Instead, there’s a curious silence from some corners, even when the target was a former president. Perhaps it’s because justice, at times, is blind to trending hashtags and partisan spins, and in this instance, it decided to slam down hard on Ralph with the heavy book of law.
