Gutfeld Warns: Why You Shouldn’t Laugh Off This Issue

As the world turns and the clock ticks ever forward, there are some things that refuse to die, like that song that gets stuck in your head. Wokeism is one of those persistent pests, gnawing at society from every angle. In a world where Joy Behar apparently suits up in orange to handle the increasingly absurd antics of woke culture, we can’t help but roll our eyes at the ongoing theatrics. Much like a cornered animal—feral hogs if you will—woke culture gets more rabid when threatened. It amplifies its reach, becoming the insufferable, baked-on grease of our social discourse.

The conversation has veered from the merely ridiculous to the profoundly absurd. We’ve got liberal commentators like Lawrence O’Donnell mangling common phrases like “leave no man behind” into weak attempts at woke corrections, as if saying “man” is a crime against humanity. The reality was that the pilot he referred to was indeed male. But hey, let’s not let facts get in the way of a good woke narrative. Really, the level of absurdity here is so high it could be a joke. Yet this is what passes for serious discourse in some circles where reality is on permanent vacation.

Up north, our Canadian friends aren’t doing much better, dealing with their own brand of wokeness on steroids. When a Canadian MP rattled off an acronym so long it seemed like she passed out on her keyboard, it was clear things had gone too far. The MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ acronym might sound like a password for a sketchy website, but it actually stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and an ever-growing number of others. It starts with serious issues, but by the time you finish saying it, you forget what you were concerned about in the first place. It’s like strapping a train of impostors to the real sufferers, making it all too easy to dismiss.

On the educational front, the situation is just as dire, if not more so. Professors in Canada are advocating for teaching sexual orientation and gender diversity to kindergarteners, which seems less about education and more about indoctrination. It’s unsettling, to say the least, when educators promote challenging “right-wing Christian patriarchy” to four-year-olds. Parents, naturally, are left worried about the influences seeping into classrooms, proving once again that some parts of societal reform are less about progress and more about control.

Finally, the trend in healthcare policy, particularly in Canada, is raising eyebrows and, frankly, chills. With a focus on assisted dying—which ironically seems more active than efforts to prevent illness or keep people alive—the country charts a concerning path. It’s a grim reminder that what happens in one part of the world can trickle down to others, making vigilance our strongest ally.

So let’s pause and recognize the comedy and tragedy in this spectacle. Wokeism isn’t dead—it’s just hiding. It’s a tireless chameleon, camouflaging itself in corners where it can fester and mutate further. For those amongst us still keeping a pulse on the beat of politics, it’s clear this brand of wakened absurdity poses a challenge that demands our attention, lest we blink and find the walls have closed in on us, too.
