Friday rolls around once more, and what better way to welcome the weekend than with another round of political theater courtesy of our friends across the aisle? As the Democrats gear up once again, it seems like they haven’t learned much after 11 years of battling Donald Trump. Yet here they are, discussing various means of impeachment with a gusto that suggests they’ve learned nothing from the past. If only they put as much effort into constructive policies that actually benefit Americans.
Democrats, it seems, are eager to push impeachment forward the moment they sense any opportunity. Illinois Congresswoman Delia Ramirez is urging for a solid strategy to build a case, while Arizona Congresswoman Yasame Ansari predicts overwhelming support for impeachment. If only they could be just as enthusiastic about addressing key issues threatening the nation’s middle class. Instead, they plunge into another impeachment circus, apparently failing to realize it does nothing but divide the country further and make governance seem like an obstacle rather than a priority.
Despite attempts in the past, Trump’s previous impeachments, tied to various creative accusations, culminated in high-drama televised events but achieved little more than that. Their first carnival took over three months, ending in acquittal. Then, January 6th was another showpiece—a month-long saga ending predictably with another acquittal. The Democrats thought these rebukes would hinder Trump’s future, but with a snappy baton twirl of mass mail ballots and pandemic woes, Biden stumbled to victory in 2020.
Meanwhile, President Trump continues to place international stones on the global chessboard, sending his team to foster talks with Iran in Pakistan. While tensions bubble over about potential deals, the United States’ resolve in dealing with Iran is steadfast. The Navy stands vigilant, meticulously sweeping the Gulf for threats against American shipping, a reminder of America’s resolute stance against adversarial forces.
As the Democrats persist in their single-minded pursuit of impeachment, they cleverly distract from the growing pressures within the Republican party that offer real, tangible benefits—stronger borders, increased voter diversity, and a resilient economy. Trump, with his straightforward, albeit unconventional, tactics and policies, not only aimed at adversarial regimes like Iran but also challenged the Democrat’s longstanding hold on various demographics. As the Democrats continue their fixation on punitive measures, they miss the opportunity to truly engage and win over the American people. The focus on punishment rather than progress is revealing—a tale as old as time, or at least, as old as Trump’s tenure in politics.
