His reluctance to support voter ID laws and his opposition to border security only add layers to an already confusing platform, especially in Texas, a state not exactly known for its love of ultra-progressive ideas.
Meanwhile, endorsements from figures like Beto O’Rourke, or as some affectionately call him, “Beto Bozo,” aren’t exactly helping their case. O’Rourke’s consistent track record of losing statewide races due to his radical views doesn’t give Talarico the boost he might hope for. Platner’s disdain for Blue-collar America and military veterans, calling a Purple Heart recipient a derogatory name, doesn’t speak well of his character or electoral prospects. Then there’s the alarming rise of anti-Semitic sentiments within the Democratic ranks, which candidates like Mallerie McMaro and Abdul El-Sayed have struggled to address adequately. The hesitance or outright refusal of some party figures to support Israel is distressing and shows a disconnect with a large segment of the electorate. It’s baffling how a party that supposedly champions inclusivity and tolerance seems to tolerate and even foster such divisive and dangerous ideologies.
