Steve Hilton Slams Platner as Irrelevant and Overhyped

Steve Hilton, the gubernatorial candidate from California, has shed light on what he sees as a major issue with the Democratic Party, opting to describe them as a party without principles. As he aptly put it, their core focus is clinging to power rather than holding onto any real values. The event prompting these comments was an announcement by Graham Platner, which Hilton deemed as needlessly long and strange. Instead of focusing on clear issues and solutions, Hilton contends that the Democrats have ventured into a realm of baffling ideologies and abandoned the working class they once claimed to champion.

The frustration is apparent when examining the policies attributed to figures like Platner. According to Hilton, the supposed working-class credentials are as authentic as a three-dollar bill. Why? Because the very policies deemed to support the working class are implemented in places where the working class struggle the most. Look no further than California and New York, he points out, where high unemployment rates, poverty, and an expensive cost of living prevail. It’s a deception, he argues, as the Democrats pretend to resonate with the working class, while their focus remains on elitist agendas that don’t address the concerns of everyday Americans.

Hilton’s commentary doesn’t stop there. He suggests that the Democrats, who once promised to fight for the working class, have gradually distanced themselves from these roots. Instead, they have adopted policies that seem drastically out of touch with what the average person needs. Whether it’s an affinity for open borders, or controversial policies on policing and bizarre educational agendas, the Democratic platform seems a world apart from the realities for most people. Hilton gives a nod to Donald Trump for ‘stealing’ the working-class support, but makes it clear that it’s also the Democrats’ mistake of losing their grasp on what truly matters.

He points out the shift in the Democratic base, arguing it’s no longer about the everyday American. Instead, they’re now courting the academic elite and ideologues. The extreme positions taken, particularly on international issues like those concerning Palestine, are out of step with the priorities of everyday folks focused on making ends meet. Hilton contrasts this with what he’s promoting in his campaign – real, tangible solutions like reduced gas prices, tax-free thresholds, and affordable homes for young families. The message is clear: the Democrats, in Hilton’s view, are too busy with their academic daydreams to address these essential, down-to-earth needs.

In a final humorous jab, Hilton comments on how Democrats are intent on micromanaging the lives of every citizen, from what cars to drive to how to cook dinner – seemingly everything except doing their jobs effectively. It’s a comedy of errors, he suggests, pointing to California. Despite their high taxes, residents face crumbling infrastructure, poorly performing schools, and persistent homelessness. So while the Democrats have all these ideas on how folks should run their lives, they seem incapable of running the state. It’s almost as if they are more preoccupied with being in control than making things better. With biting humor, Hilton highlights this paradox, calling Democratic governance a joke, but perhaps it’s a joke that nobody’s laughing at.
