This political circus has also drawn in former Mayor Eric Adams, who begs to differ with de Blasio. Adams argues that people are conveniently forgetting past events, choosing to rewrite history to fit current narratives. He emphasizes the importance of respecting international leaders to maintain global respect for America’s leaders.
And as if the international brouhaha weren’t enough, Mayor Mandami has rolled out a new policy for city-run grocery stores. Amidst more serious issues, perhaps thinking he’s on a game show, he promises 30% savings on core goods, with no gimmicks – except, of course, the fine print that might devastate local businesses trying to compete. Critics, like Adams, argue it could hurt local entrepreneurs, such as bodegas, unable to match these artificially low prices. Some suspect this is part of a broader agenda by certain political factions who don’t believe in private property, aiming instead to push small business owners out of the market.
