Fentanyl Crisis Ties Back to Mayorkas, Claims James Comer

In a significant development, Congressman James Comr, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, announced the appointment of Congressman Brandon Gil to lead a task force targeting the rising issue of birth tourism. This practice, where expecting mothers travel to the United States to give birth, has burgeoned into an industry that many lawmakers argue exploits the American immigration system. As Comr pointed out, countries like China and Mexico play pivotal roles in this situation, contributing to the challenge that American taxpayers face. The costs, he emphasized, could soar into the hundreds of millions if these individuals rely on welfare services after their arrival.

Comr expressed frustration over the apparent inaction by the Biden administration, suggesting that their policies have encouraged this surge in birth tourism. He believes that Democrats are more interested in increasing their voter base than addressing the loopholes in immigration law. The Congressman hinted at potential contempt charges against a doctor currently under investigation who has refused to comply with inquiries about his participation in this dubious enterprise. This investigation raises concerns about the integrity of the immigration system, which Comr claims has been undermined significantly during the current presidential term.

Shifting gears, Comr’s committee is also delving into a grave issue: the increase in fentanyl-related deaths across the nation, particularly in New Mexico. Allegations have surfaced that decision-makers in the Biden administration, especially around the DEA, have neglected substantial amounts of fentanyl slipping into the hands of criminals. Reports suggest that shipments have sometimes included staggering quantities—upward of 100,000 pills. Comr contends that the lax policies of the current administration have directly contributed to a staggering number of fatalities.

The Congressman pointed fingers at Mayor Orcus, asserting that he misled the public about the state of the U.S. border. He contrasted Orcus’ claims with former President Trump’s rapid border security successes, painting a picture of incompetence in the current administration’s handling of this crisis. With the evidence they are gathering, Comr and his committee are steadfast in their mission to hold those accountable for these unfortunate policies and their disastrous outcomes.

In addition to tackling pressing issues like birth tourism and the fentanyl crisis, Comr noted that his committee has also managed to pass several essential bills amid a challenging legislative landscape. Recently, they approved a short-term funding measure to keep the government open and avoid any shutdowns leading up to the midterms. Yet, the Congressman expressed concern over a backlog in the Senate, stating that numerous vital bills have stalled.

As Congress approaches its October deadline, Comr is eager to finalize important legislation, particularly the far-reaching farm bill, which he believes is crucial for America’s agricultural sector. With a month remaining before the midterms, the Congressman hopes to ensure that these initiatives come to fruition, underscoring the importance of effective governance and accountability as key themes for his party moving forward. In the world of politics, time waits for no one, and the clock is ticking as they prepare for what lies ahead.
