America’s Largest Cannabis Greenhouse Aims to Dominate the Market

**From Tomatoes to Tokes: Glass House Brands Aims to Be the Sunkist of Cannabis**

Nestled between rolling hills and farmlands in Camarillo, California, lies a massive 165-acre greenhouse belonging to Glass House Brands, the largest cannabis cultivation facility in America. With electric fences buzzing and the unmistakable aroma of cannabis filling the air, the site stands out against a backdrop of traditional veggie farms. If one were to forget the green gold that’s grown there, it would just look like another ordinary farm, growing tomatoes and cucumbers. But make no mistake, Glass House is serious about taking a bite out of the cannabis market, aiming to be the “Sunkist of weed.”

Last year, Glass House Brands harvested an impressive 666,000 pounds of cannabis, raking in a hefty $182 million in revenue. While this was a step down from its $201 million in 2024—thanks in part to an unfortunate federal immigration raid that impacted operations—the company’s sights are set high. By the end of 2026, Glass House is forecasting an ambitious leap to 1 million pounds of cannabis cultivated and sales reaching up to $245 million. With its recent leap onto the New York Stock Exchange, the company has joined the ranks of only two American marijuana firms to reach this prestigious platform, following in the footsteps of Trulieve just a few months prior.

Although Glass House isn’t the biggest player in the cannabis industry when it comes to overall sales—Curaleaf tops the chart with $1.3 billion in revenue in 2025—it boasts the country’s largest greenhouse cultivation facility. Spanning a remarkable 5.5 million square feet, Glass House’s production area is akin to six massive buildings, each wider than two football fields and stretching eight long across. Co-founders Graham Farrar and Kyle Kazan certainly wield enough green thumb prowess to earn the title of “weed dealers,” overseeing a staggering 1.2 million cannabis plants cultivated in various stages of maturity. The diverse selection ranges from enticingly named strains like Oreos and Jack Herer to a mysterious new plant with vibrant purple leaves that’s still undergoing development.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing in the world of cannabis for these founders. Faced with the hammer of the federal government, the company’s operations took a major hit last summer during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid. Federal agents swept in with their armored vehicles, apprehending over 300 people and pulling children from the property. Although no marijuana was seized, the company lost around 60% of its plants while scrambling to re-hire and retrain contractors. This little hiccup also resulted in a $20 million financial blow. Yet, undeterred, Glass House has bounced back by expanding its grow space by an additional million square feet, positioning itself to exceed its pre-raid output and sales.

In a surprising twist resembling something straight out of a political drama, the Department of Justice recently reclassified medical marijuana from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3, easing restrictions that have historically shackled the cannabis industry. This monumental shift means that marijuana is no longer lumped in with the likes of heroin and LSD, but instead shares company with less dangerous substances like ketamine and Tylenol with codeine. For Glass House, this change opens doors to significant opportunities, including access to major domestic financial markets that have previously been elusive due to federal regulations.

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, it appears that Glass House is well on its way to becoming a household name—much like its Sunkist counterpart—but with a delightful twist that has many wondering just how high sales can soar. With ambitious goals and a resilient spirit, Glass House Brands is not just growing cannabis; it’s cultivating a new future for the legal marijuana market in America. So, whether you’re a casual consumer or just curious about the industry’s future, keep an eye on this green giant making waves in the world of cannabis cultivation.
