Bernie Sanders is under fire for spending over $221,000 of campaign donations on private jets during his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. The self-proclaimed socialist defended the luxury travel during a tense Fox News interview, claiming it was the “only way to get around” to his rallies. This comes as Sanders lectures Americans about climate change and rails against “corporate greed.”
Sanders snapped at reporter Bret Baier when asked about the jets, saying he wouldn’t “wait in line at United” while thousands waited for him. The Vermont senator dismissed concerns about carbon emissions, arguing his events justified burning jet fuel. Meanwhile, working-class families struggle with soaring gas prices and Biden’s energy policies.
The hypocrisy is glaring. Sanders pushes Green New Deal policies that would ban gas cars and bankrupt coal miners, but he’s fine with spewing tons of CO2 for his comfort. His campaign dropped $15,000 per hour on luxury charters while demanding middle-class taxpayers fund electric busses and solar panels.
Real Americans can’t afford private jets. They drive beat-up trucks to work and budget for groceries. Sanders’ elitist travel habits show he’s part of the out-of-touch Washington swamp he claims to fight. Millionaire politicians live by different rules than the people they lecture.
Sanders tried deflecting by pointing at Donald Trump’s jet use – a weak excuse. Conservatives don’t pretend to care about the planet while flying like royalty. Sanders wants to control your life but exempts himself from his radical climate agenda.
The “Fighting Oligarchy” tour ironically relies on the same corporate jet services used by CEOs and celebrities. Sanders attacks “the rich” but happily spends donor cash on lavish travel. It’s classic socialism – rules for thee, but not for me.
Hardworking Americans see this hypocrisy clearly. Sanders embodies the elite liberal class that preaches sacrifice while living in luxury. His private jet splurge proves he doesn’t practice what he preaches. Conservatives are calling out this double standard.
