Federal probes and public reporting show the Biden-era charity networks and deep-pocketed progressive foundations are now under scrutiny for routing millions into groups tied to organized street violence.

We’ve watched TPUSA rallies repeatedly disrupted — from campus flashpoints to chaotic Berkeley scenes where confrontations turned bloody — and ordinary citizens are fed up with politicians who shrug while our side gets attacked. Conservative outlets and local footage document aggressive attempts to breach barricades and assault attendees at these events, which can no longer be written off as spontaneous.

So how is this machine funded? Investigations and reporting point to a layered funding model: national foundations and fiscal sponsors grant money to intermediary nonprofits, which then support street organizers and “mutual aid” networks that supply logistics, bail funds, and equipment. This multi-hop funneling makes it easy for wealthy donors and big foundations to finance chaos while denying direct responsibility.

We should not ignore the elephant in the room — major philanthropies like the Open Society Foundations have long bankrolled a constellation of advocacy groups and progressive infrastructure, and lawmakers in Washington are now asking hard questions about whether some of that money ended up supporting disruptive, violent campaigns. Those foundations deny supporting violence, yet the appearance of a financial pipeline from big-money donors to street-level militants is reason enough for a full accounting.

At the same time, grassroots fundraising mechanisms — GoFundMe pages, Cash App drives, and mutual aid campaigns — have proven to be powerful and sometimes opaque tools for sustaining protest networks. Local reporting shows these funds pay for everything from transportation to bail money, making it cheaper and easier to deploy trained agitators across the country. Conservatives who value law and order should demand transparency from platforms that enable this funding.

The federal government appears to be taking this seriously: Treasury and financial investigators have tools to follow suspicious financial flows, and the IRS’s criminal investigators have modernized capabilities to trace funds moving through nonprofits and payment processors.
