Charlie Sheen had it all back in 2011. He was making nearly two million dollars per episode on his hit show Two and a Half Men. That made him the highest paid actor on television at the time.

But Sheen threw it all away with his own bad choices. He got arrested for domestic violence on Christmas Day in 2009 with his wife. His drug use spiraled out of control and he kept going in and out of rehab. Finally the network had enough.

CBS fired Sheen in March 2011 when his behavior became too much to handle. Production had to shut down because of his latest rehab stint. Instead of taking responsibility, Sheen went on a public attack spree against his bosses and coworkers.

This is what happens when Hollywood enables bad behavior for too long. Networks and studios look the other way when stars bring in big money. They ignore the warning signs until things explode completely.

Sheen called his boss Chuck Lorre nasty names and bragged about his firing to anyone who would listen. He acted like a spoiled child instead of a grown man. His meltdown became a media circus that embarrassed everyone involved.

The show replaced Sheen with Ashton Kutcher and kept going without him. Kutcher brought stability and professionalism that Sheen never had. The message was clear that no one is bigger than the show.

Sheen tried to bounce back with a new series called Anger Management. It ran for a few seasons but never came close to his previous success. His reputation was damaged beyond repair by his own actions.

Today Sheen appears to have learned his lesson the hard way. He recently worked with Chuck Lorre again on a new show. Sometimes it takes losing everything to finally grow up and face the consequences of your choices.
