President Trump offered to help Chicago fight its deadly crime problem, but local politicians threw a tantrum instead of protecting their own people. These Democrats care more about opposing Trump than saving lives in their own city. Eight people died and fifty more got shot over Labor Day weekend alone, but Chicago’s mayor still says no to federal help.
Chicago had 573 murders last year, more than any other big city in America. That’s almost twice as many as New York City, which has three times more people. The numbers don’t lie, no matter how much these politicians try to spin them.
Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson are crying about Trump wanting to send in the National Guard to stop the bloodshed. They call it military occupation, but what do you call letting gangs shoot up neighborhoods every weekend. These are the same people who locked down entire cities during COVID but won’t let the military help stop actual violence.
Trump sees Americans getting killed and wants to do something about it. That’s what real leadership looks like. He’s not playing politics while mothers bury their children and families live in fear.
The liberal politicians in Chicago would rather see their city burn than work with Trump. They’ve spent millions on feel-good programs that clearly aren’t working fast enough. Meanwhile, real people are dying in the streets.
Now Trump is moving on to help New Orleans instead, where local leaders actually want to protect their citizens. Chicago’s loss is New Orleans’ gain. At least some cities still put public safety over partisan politics.
This whole mess shows exactly what’s wrong with liberal-run cities across America. They create the problems with their soft-on-crime policies, then refuse help when things get out of control. They’d rather play victim than actually solve anything.
The people of Chicago deserve better than politicians who care more about fighting Trump than fighting crime. Every weekend that passes without action means more families destroyed by violence that could be stopped. That blood is on the hands of every official who said no to help.
