Columbia University just got hit with a massive reality check from the federal government. The Department of Health and Human Services found the elite liberal school guilty of violating federal civil rights law by allowing rampant antisemitism on campus. This is what happens when woke universities care more about progressive politics than protecting all their students.
The evidence against Columbia is absolutely shocking. Jewish students were chased off campus, spat on for wearing religious clothing, and physically assaulted. Faculty members called Israeli veterans an “army of murderers” and referred to Jewish donors as “wealthy white capitalists.” This is the kind of hatred that thrives in America’s leftist academic bubble.
A university task force interviewed 500 students and found antisemitism everywhere on campus. Jewish students had to leave their dorms because of harassment. One student was targeted just for hanging a mezuzah on her door, a basic religious practice. The report found that professors were openly discriminating against Jewish students and Israeli veterans.
Columbia finally disciplined at least 70 students in July 2025, but only after the federal government stepped in. The university had to be forced by Washington to do the right thing. This shows how far left these institutions have fallen when they won’t even protect Jewish students from hate crimes.
The task force found that anti-Zionism at Columbia was really just antisemitism in disguise. Faculty and students were using criticism of Israel as cover for old-fashioned Jew hatred. This is exactly what conservatives have been warning about for years while liberals looked the other way.
It took a federal investigation to make Columbia admit they had a problem. The school’s interim president finally said the antisemitism was “completely unacceptable,” but where was this leadership when Jewish students were being terrorized. They only cared when the government threatened real consequences.
This is the poisonous fruit of decades of leftist indoctrination on college campuses. When universities teach students that America and Israel are evil oppressors, antisemitism naturally follows. These schools have created monster students who think hatred of Jews is social justice.
Every parent needs to think twice before sending their kids to these woke institutions. Columbia took federal money while allowing Jewish students to be brutalized and harassed. If elite universities won’t protect basic civil rights, they don’t deserve our tax dollars or our children.
