Dana Perino Skewers Kamala’s Word Salad Skills

In today’s political landscape, capitalism appears to be facing a rough patch. According to recent polls, only 54% of the public reportedly holds a favorable view of capitalism, marking the lowest approval rating Gallup has ever recorded. At the heart of this decline seems to be one side of the political spectrum—the Democrats—where only 42% view capitalism favorably, while a surprising 66% lean positively toward socialism. This shift in sentiment is hardly a silent one, with prominent voices like “The Squad” reportedly stoking the fires of a socialist resurgence.

Critics argue that what initially seems to be a call for fairness in wealth distribution quickly turns into a rally for socialism—where everyone is equally poor, except, of course, for the well-to-do socialist mascots who champion these causes from the comfort of their luxury suites. The ironic aspect is that many of the younger generation, who are vocal about their grievances with capitalism, appear to not fully grasp what socialism truly entails. If the attendees of a recent socialist event in New York are anything to go by, the term was tossed around rather liberally, with little comprehension of its implications.

Enter John Fetterman, a rare voice of reason within the blue camp, who warned against the romanticizing of a socialist state. His perspective was born from witnessing firsthand the stark realities faced by those living under communist regimes. It’s a sobering reminder to his party to revisit history and perhaps steer clear of a trajectory that others are desperately trying to forget. It’s a curious thing that whenever reality starts to bite, the allure of socialism starts shimmering—but not for long once the cold economic truths settle in.

The discussion then turned to the younger generations, who seem to bear the weight of disillusionment with the current system. From the Great Recession to stagnant wages and the chaos of a pandemic, it’s easy to see why some might feel short-changed by capitalism. However, what these young disheartened souls need is not a system overhaul but rather an environment that fosters genuine capitalism—one that encourages entrepreneurship, innovation, and the American Dream without unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles.

Simply put, the real irony is that many of today’s champions of socialism—who can afford to travel and advocate for it without restraint—are the very beneficiaries of the capitalist system they claim to criticize. The ultimate joke is on those who idolize such figures. They might find themselves chasing an ideal that’s as elusive as the generous social programs they dream of, funded by who knows what. In the end, capitalism may not be perfect, but history has shown time and again that its alternative demands perfection—a condition rare as a unicorn—and when that falls apart, the aftermath isn’t shining but rather a grim reflection of what was promised but never delivered.
