Democratic Leaders Face Threat: Embrace Violence or Be Targeted

The left has crossed a line that cannot be papered over with excuses: Jennifer Welch, co-host of the “I’ve Had It” podcast, laughed as she played a clip of a “No Kings” protester celebrating the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk — then used that moment to scold Democratic leaders to “get on board” with this mob or be “coming after you.” This isn’t eccentric rhetoric; it’s a celebration of political violence that was broadcast and cheered on by a rising liberal media personality.

Welch’s demand that the Democratic establishment embrace this kind of bile or face the same wrath her faction dishes out was brazen and chilling, a tacit endorsement of intimidation and a warning to anyone who won’t kneel to the new left orthodoxy. Her words — “jump on board or we’re coming after you” — read like a threat, and that’s exactly how decent Americans should treat them: with alarm and swift condemnation.

Conservative athletes and voices like Riley Gaines, who have been fighting for fair treatment of women’s sports, were targeted by Welch’s venomous attack, and Gaines’ calm, firm response exposed the moral bankruptcy of those who applaud a man’s murder. Media figures including Dave Rubin, Clay Travis, and Buck Sexton have rightly called attention to the ugliness of Welch’s comments and the broader problem of the left normalizing violence in public discourse.

Don’t let anyone tell you this is an isolated outburst from a lone provocateur; the mainstream press is already propping Welch up as a rising star and normalizing her extremism. When outlets lavish attention on a host who laughs at murder and attacks defenders of women’s sports, it’s a signal that an entire cultural ecosystem is drifting toward acceptance of political violence as a tactic. That should terrify every parent, coach, and voter who believes in civil society.

Riley Gaines deserves credit for standing her ground against the mob. She speaks for millions of Americans who want safe, fair spaces for women to compete and who reject the idea that political disagreement justifies celebrating death. Conservatives should rally behind athletes like Gaines and demand consequences for those who incite or applaud violence — not because we want to silence disagreement, but because civilized disagreement cannot coexist with calls for murder.

Dave Rubin’s response — measured, indignant, and focused on the principle at stake — is the kind of clear-eyed conservative reaction we need right now: call out the rot, defend victims, and refuse to normalize barbarity dressed up as rebellion. If the right retreats into timidity while the left escalates, we will lose not just debates but the basic norms that make democracy work.

This moment should wake up every patriotic American: fight with everything in your power at the ballot box, in the marketplace, and on campus to reject politicians and media figures who excuse violence. Demand accountability from sponsors, platforms, and party leaders who enable these voices, and stand with those who defend truth, decency, and the rights of women to have their sports protected. Our country is worth defending from this creeping moral collapse.
