Governor Ron DeSantis is taking a stand for common sense in Florida. He’s removing rainbow crosswalks and other political art from state roads. The liberal media is having a total meltdown over it.
DeSantis says roads are for driving, not pushing woke agendas. The Florida Department of Transportation is removing all non-compliant street art statewide. This includes Pride murals and other political messages painted on public roads.
The left is screaming about the rainbow crosswalk removal at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub. They’re calling it heartless and cruel. But DeSantis is applying the same rules to everyone equally.
At least nine Democrat-run cities are fighting the state over this decision. They want to keep their rainbow crosswalks and political street art. Miami Beach is desperately trying to save its famous rainbow crosswalk on Ocean Drive.
The rules are simple and fair. No social, political, or ideological messages on roads unless they help with traffic control. Roads should be about safety, not virtue signaling to liberal activists.
Cities that refuse to comply will lose millions in state and federal transportation funding. That’s real consequences for real taxpayer money. DeSantis isn’t backing down from his promise to keep politics out of infrastructure.
LGBTQ activists are re-painting crosswalks with chalk in protest. Police have to guard intersections now because these radicals won’t accept the law. State Senator Shevrin Jones is crying about it on MSNBC like a typical Democrat.
This is what real leadership looks like in action. DeSantis puts Florida families first, not special interest groups. While liberals rage and protest, he’s making sure our tax dollars go to actual road safety instead of woke propaganda.
