Dr. Umar Johnson Faces Auction as Donors Demand Accountability

Dr. Umar Johnson is finally facing the music for years of broken promises and financial mismanagement. The controversial activist’s so-called Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy is about to be auctioned off by the city of Wilmington, Delaware. This comes after four straight years of unpaid vacant property registration fees and mounting utility bills.

Johnson has been collecting donations from hardworking Americans for over a decade, promising to open this revolutionary school for Black children. Instead, what supporters got were empty buildings that have sat vacant while Johnson lived off their generous contributions. Now the city is stepping in to collect what’s owed, and Johnson is scrambling to avoid losing everything.

The timing couldn’t be more suspicious, with Johnson’s bank accounts recently frozen right before this auction notice appeared. He owes thousands in basic fees that any responsible property owner would have paid years ago. But instead of taking accountability, Johnson is doing what he always does when caught red-handed.

True to form, Johnson is crying racism and discrimination against the city of Wilmington. He claims they didn’t properly notify him about the unpaid fees, even though property owners are responsible for staying current on their obligations. This is the same tired playbook we’ve seen from failed leaders who refuse to take responsibility for their own poor decisions.

Johnson is now begging his followers for more money through PayPal and Venmo to save his crumbling project. He’s even calling for protest marches against city hall and threatening to sue for racism. Meanwhile, the real victims are the donors who trusted him with their hard-earned money over the past ten years.

The vacant property fees are set to jump from five thousand to twelve thousand dollars per year this fall. Any competent business owner would have planned for these costs and kept up with payments. But Johnson has proven time and again that he’s better at collecting money than actually managing it responsibly.

This whole mess exposes the danger of throwing money at activists who make big promises but deliver nothing. Conservative Americans understand that actions speak louder than words, and results matter more than rhetoric. Johnson had over a decade to prove himself and failed spectacularly.

The auction deadline is fast approaching, and it looks like Johnson’s house of cards is finally collapsing. Maybe this will serve as a wake-up call to well-meaning donors who need to demand real accountability before opening their wallets. True leaders deliver on their promises instead of making excuses when the bills come due.
