Epstein’s Secret Police Tech Deal Could Have Netted $100 Million

**The Hidden Investment of a Controversial Investor: Jeffrey Epstein and Carbine Technology**

In a twist that seems straight out of a thriller novel, the late Jeffrey Epstein, known for his nefarious activities, made a secretive investment that could have turned into a massive fortune. This investment, made in 2015, was in a police technology startup called Raorti, which was later renamed Carbine. Epstein’s $1 million stake was brokered by none other than Ehoud Barack, a former prime minister of Israel. While the details of Epstein’s involvement had been discussed before, the magnitude of this investment and its potential profitability had mostly flown under the radar—until now.

When Epstein made his investment, Carbine was valued at just $4.5 million. Fast forward to November, and news broke that Axon, a giant in the police technology industry, was acquiring Carbine for a whopping $625 million. If Epstein had held onto his shares in the company, his investment could have ballooned to over $100 million. This revelation raises eyebrows, especially considering the technology behind Carbine is designed for emergency responders, allowing callers to stream live video straight to police headquarters. In a world where every second counts, this tech could be a game changer.

Interestingly, the details unveiled in Department of Justice emails tell a somewhat murky tale. Epstein’s investment was cleverly disguised through a holding company set up by Barack. This holding company also included $500,000 from Nicole Junkerman, a savvy German-born investor who Epstein introduced to his extensive network of wealthy individuals. Yet, the investment documents surprisingly omitted both Epstein and Junkerman’s names, leading to questions about the transparency within the partnership. Together, their joint investment secured at least a 25% stake in the company, with options to buy even more shares later on.

As the plot thickens, it is noted that Carbine’s CEO, Amir Elai, claimed he was unaware of Epstein’s investment and there were no direct communications between the two. It begs the question: How could a company’s leadership remain oblivious to such a significant stake held by a high-profile investor? Meanwhile, the connection between Epstein and Barack that lingered post-2019, the year of Epstein’s tragic end, raises further eyebrows. Barack, who left the board that year, has publicly expressed regret over his ties to Epstein.

What about Jukerman, who had an active role in Carbine? She served as a director on the company’s website until 2020, although Elai stated that this was a marketing error and that she was never officially a board member. Her outreach to influential figures, including former British Prime Minister David Cameron and billionaire Sir Len Blavatnik, shed light on her intentions to grow the business further. However, the timing of her departure from the company remains vague, just like the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s investment.

In a world where investments can make or break a company, Epstein’s hidden stake serves as a reminder of how complex and intertwined relationships in business can be. While Carbine’s software has the potential to save lives, the murky waters of its financial backers and their backgrounds reveal that not all investors come without baggage. As this story continues to unfold, it serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of transparency and integrity in the ever-evolving landscape of business investments. While Epstein’s ties to Carbine might have ended with his passing, the echoes of those connections are likely to resonate for years to come.
