Wisconsin’s liberal Governor Tony Evers just showed his true colors on illegal immigration. During his State of the State speech, Evers defended illegal aliens by claiming they have a positive economic impact. He’s putting foreign lawbreakers ahead of American workers and taxpayers.
Evers didn’t stop there with his anti-American agenda. He sent a memo telling state workers how to block federal immigration agents from doing their jobs. This is the same governor who wants to spend your tax dollars on programs while protecting people who shouldn’t even be here.
The memo tells state employees to refuse cooperation with ICE unless agents have special warrants. Evers is literally instructing government workers to obstruct federal law enforcement. This is what happens when Democrats care more about illegal aliens than law-abiding citizens.
President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan fired back with a stern warning. Homan made it clear that officials who harbor illegal aliens could face serious consequences. Finally, we have federal leadership that puts America first instead of coddling lawbreakers.
Wisconsin Republicans are fighting back against Evers’ dangerous policies. They passed a bill requiring sheriffs to work with federal immigration authorities like they should. But Evers plans to veto it because he’d rather protect criminals than citizens.
This is exactly why Trump won in a landslide. Americans are sick of politicians like Evers who put illegal aliens before hardworking families. We need leaders who will secure our borders and enforce our laws.
Evers claims immigrants help the economy while ignoring the massive costs of illegal immigration. American taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for housing, healthcare, and education for people who broke our laws to get here. We need to take care of our own citizens first.
