Far-Left’s Lawlessness ‘Permission Slip’ Gets Slammed by Turley

The scene unfolding in Newark is all too familiar: Democrats rallying outside an ICE facility, accusations of interference flying around like mosquitoes in July. Here we go again, folks. Protesters are out, sleeves rolled up, ready to engage in some good old-fashioned dissent. As usual, tensions are high and the alleged meddling with federal agents is just the cherry on top. But what may strike observers is not merely the chaos outside the ICE facility, but rather the eerie tolerance for growing chaos in other arenas too.

Take, for instance, the shocking details emerging from UCLA about anti-Semitic violence on campus. A Jewish student left unconscious, and graffiti that chills more than a brisk winter morning. Yet, in these separate worlds of protests and campus unrest, not a single arrest has been made. Makes you wonder if cries for justice have become more selective than an exclusive club’s guest list.

This isn’t just an LA problem; it’s a question of accountability wrapped in layers of politically selective outrage. The Department of Justice is holding UCLA’s feet to the fire with a lawsuit akin to a teacher waving detention slips. They remind us that universities have a duty to maintain a safe space for all students, not just those who align with certain fashionable ideologies. It’s a lesson in what’s called Title Six, which some parece to think is more of a suggestion than a requirement. Under the guise of free speech, ideas are being spirited away to underscore particular narratives while real harm is seemingly tolerated. What a world—speech gets canceled, but action? Not so much.

Meanwhile, Rep. Dan Goldman, alongside Jerry Nadler, took his drama club safari to an ICE facility attracting cameras like moths to a flame. Energies seemed to echo the sentiment of New Jersey Senator Cy Booker, who has been quite vocal about the nature of those detained at the facility. However, he conveniently overlooks the reality that some folks detained there have crossed the border illegally— an action that might not land one in the Alcatraz of immigration policy but is certainly no picnic in the park of legality either.

Enter Dan Goldman, attempting to court favor among Democratic voters in a race where being a wealthy heir trying to fit into socialist rhetoric is about as seamless as fitting a square peg into a round hole. His opponent speaks about housing issues that resonate with constituents, while Goldman seems intent on keeping the fire of political rage burning bright. It’s a show, and he knows it, but alas, let them eat impeachments doesn’t quite ring the same these days. Perhaps the quest for populism behind rallying cries and political grandstanding has reached a level of absurdity that even a clown car full of performers would envy.

At the end of the day, the reality remains all too clear: without serious action from authorities, the drama outside ICE facilities and on campuses will continue to play out like a never-ending sequel. While the cries for justice echo from California to New Jersey, the solutions seem to still be stuck on pause. One thing is evident—when seriousness calls, excuses and empty gestures shouldn’t be the ones answering the phone.
