The swamp is getting drained again. Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is now under criminal investigation by the Justice Department for mortgage fraud. Grand juries are involved and subpoenas have been sent to her homes in Georgia and Michigan. This is exactly the kind of corruption President Trump promised to clean up.
Cook allegedly lied about which home was her primary residence to get better loan deals. She owned houses in both Ann Arbor, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia but apparently told banks both were her main home. That’s fraud, plain and simple. While regular Americans struggle with high mortgage rates, this government elite was gaming the system.
Federal Housing Agency Director Bill Pulte blew the whistle on Cook’s schemes. He found evidence that she falsified bank documents and property records to steal better loan terms. These are serious federal crimes that would land any ordinary citizen in prison. But Cook thought her position would protect her from consequences.
President Trump fired Cook immediately after learning about these allegations. He did what any real leader would do when faced with corruption in his administration. Cook didn’t deserve due process – she deserved to be shown the door. Trump put America first by removing this bad actor.
Of course Cook is now suing the Trump administration. She claims Trump violated her due process rights by firing her. This is typical liberal thinking – break the law then cry victim when you face consequences. She wants taxpayers to fund her legal defense while she fights charges for stealing from those same taxpayers.
This makes Cook the third public official under investigation by Trump’s team for mortgage fraud. The previous administration clearly didn’t vet these people properly. They were more interested in diversity appointments than finding honest public servants. Now real investigators are uncovering the truth.
Ed Martin has been chosen to lead this investigation as special assistant U.S. attorney. He specializes in mortgage fraud cases involving government officials. This shows the Trump administration is serious about rooting out corruption at every level. No one is above the law, not even Fed governors.
The corporate media will try to spin this as Trump targeting political enemies. Don’t believe their lies. These are criminal allegations backed by evidence and grand jury proceedings. Cook allegedly committed fraud while millions of Americans faced foreclosure and high interest rates. Justice must be served.
