California Governor Gavin Newsom has spent his entire career climbing the political ladder through calculated moves and convenient position changes. He started as San Francisco mayor, then jumped to lieutenant governor when his 2009 governor run failed, always keeping his eye on the next bigger prize.
The most damning example of Newsom’s hypocrisy came during COVID lockdowns when he was caught dining with lobbyists at the elite French Laundry restaurant in Napa Valley. While he forced millions of California families to stay home and small businesses to close their doors forever, Newsom was living it up with the wealthy elite. This wasn’t just bad optics – it showed his true character.
His radical sanctuary state policies put illegal immigrants before American citizens and California taxpayers. Newsom proudly declared California a sanctuary for people who broke our immigration laws while hardworking Americans struggled with the costs and consequences. He chose political points with the far left over public safety.
Even when California voters clearly supported the death penalty through multiple ballot measures, Newsom imposed his own moratorium on executions. He decided his personal beliefs mattered more than what the people voted for. This is the kind of liberal elite thinking that puts judges and politicians above the will of the voters.
The 2021 recall election showed just how fed up Californians really are with his failures. While he survived, nearly 40 percent of voters wanted him gone despite California being a deep blue state. That’s a massive rejection of his leadership in his own political backyard.
Newsom’s relationship with President Trump perfectly shows his opportunistic nature. When it helped him politically, he praised Trump and said they were getting along great during the pandemic. But when the political winds changed, he went right back to attacking Trump as part of his national political ambitions.
Speaking of ambitions, everyone knows Newsom is already running for president in 2028 while pretending to focus on California. He’s using the governor’s mansion as a stepping stone to the White House, just like he used every other office he’s held. California families are paying the price for his presidential dreams.
The real Gavin Newsom is a slick politician who will say anything and adopt any personality that helps his career. From his business background to his political rise, it’s been all about Gavin first and the people of California second. That’s not leadership – that’s exactly the kind of swamp politics Americans are tired of seeing.
