In today’s political climate, the liberal establishment never ceases to amaze with its blatant hypocrisy and selective advocacy. Take, for example, the liberal obsession with identity politics and their so-called “victim hierarchy.” Normally, it seems, they place the black woman above the white woman without question, painting themselves as the ultimate champions of social justice. Yet, when political expedience calls, they toss these principles aside faster than you can say “flip-flop.”
Consider the recent spectacle involving Kamala Harris, who was handed an opportunity during an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier to exhibit some common sense. Instead, she delivered a response that some found evasive. When asked about taxpayer-funded sex changes, one might expect a straightforward answer. This is taxpayer money we’re talking about, money that hardworking Americans expect to be used wisely, not squandered in federal prisons on controversial procedures.
But alas, Harris responded with, “I will follow the law.” This statement could reflect avoidance but actually aligns with current legal obligations. What should be alarming to everyone, regardless of party affiliation, is a misunderstanding or unwillingness by many to recognize that laws can be challenged and revised, especially when they defy common sense.
What’s more, the leftist media, particularly outlets like MSNBC, continue bending over backward to shield her from much-needed scrutiny. It’s as if they believe their roles are to act as her personal PR team rather than objective purveyors of news. They eagerly cover up her missteps and incoherent responses with generous editing, yet still expect the public to buy into their narrative of her supposed “competence.”
The real question, of course, is how far the left would go to twist their own logic in a hypothetical scenario where a white male Democrat might run against a black female Republican. Would the cries of sexism and racism be suddenly muted? Or would they invent new categories into their rotating hierarchy? Perhaps this is where the liberal empire of contradiction will truly meet its match. Until then, we can only hope that voters will see through the smokescreen and demand leaders who are straightforward, decisive, and, yes, have more acuity than an amoeba.
