Liberal activists are once again putting Americans at risk by interfering with ICE operations across the country. These dangerous protests show just how far the left will go to protect criminal aliens over law-abiding citizens. When federal agents try to do their jobs and remove dangerous gang members, radical leftists attack them instead of thanking them.
In Washington DC, a 44-year-old woman named Sydney Lori Reid was arrested for assaulting federal agents. The agents were simply trying to transfer suspected international gang members from a detention facility. But Reid decided to physically attack the very people keeping our communities safe from these criminals.
ICE officials made it clear that Reid’s actions could have let dangerous gang members escape back into our neighborhoods. These are not innocent people seeking asylum – these are alleged gang members who pose a real threat to American families. Yet liberals like Reid think protecting criminals is more important than protecting Americans.
The same pattern happened in Los Angeles where protesters threw concrete at police officers during immigration raids. Over 200 angry leftists gathered to defend people who broke our immigration laws. They vandalized federal buildings and turned violent when officers tried to maintain order.
Liberal politicians like Mayor Karen Bass complained that enforcing immigration law creates “terror” in communities. She seems more worried about illegal aliens than the American citizens who elected her. These politicians have forgotten that their first duty is to Americans, not foreign criminals.
The Trump administration has been clear that federal immigration law will be enforced no matter what local politicians say. Stephen Miller reminded Mayor Bass that she has no say in federal law enforcement. The Constitution makes federal law supreme over local politics.
Under President Trump, ICE has arrested over 352,000 illegal aliens and removed more than 324,000 from our country. Seventy percent of these arrests were criminal illegal aliens who had already broken our laws beyond just entering illegally. This is exactly what Americans voted for when they elected Trump.
These liberal protesters need to understand that interfering with federal agents is a serious crime. ICE officials have warned that anyone who obstructs immigration enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Americans are tired of watching criminals get more protection than the brave agents risking their lives to keep us safe.
