McEnany Rips Biden’s Latest Move: A Terrifying Power Grab

The transportation department has decided to take action, urgently addressing the increasing number of deadly crashes involving truckers who just shouldn’t be behind the wheel. These incidents have been linked to illegal immigrants who somehow managed to get their hands on commercial driver’s licenses, which should be about as easy as finding a unicorn, but apparently is not. Just imagine driving down a busy interstate like those in Florida, where nearly half the truckers passing through waystations can’t speak English. It’s astonishing to think about. To put it bluntly, if you can’t read the signs or communicate with law enforcement, you probably shouldn’t be handling 80,000 pounds of machinery.

Federal law already requires English proficiency for truck drivers, a law the Trump administration is now, justifiably, enforcing. It’s not some novel idea; it’s been in place for a reason. Derek Bars, who has been around the block a few times as a trooper himself, leads the crackdown on this issue in Florida. The shocking part is discovering that these individuals held commercial licenses, despite some not even being here legally. And, as records show, this has devastating consequences, like the illegal immigrant from India who made a deadly, infamous U-turn on a Florida turnpike leading to three deaths.

It’s a shame to think about those truck drivers, many of them legal and hard-working, losing hours and wages because of this absurdity. The trucking industry, already grappling with an 80,000 driver shortage, is further hurt by these reckless practices. Companies cutting corners for profit is as unexpectedly as, well, the sun rising in the east. They’re putting everybody at risk, from families packed into their SUVs to individuals just minding their own business on the road. It’s a lose-lose scenario, except for the ones pocketing a few extra bucks at the top.

But, wait, it gets even juicier. Nationwide audits reveal unsettling figures. In New York, a staggering 53% of CDLs were wrongfully issued. California, not to be outdone, graced 17,000 non-domiciled drivers with CDLs, and Illinois wasn’t far behind. A truck isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a potential three-ton missile barreling down highways. Enforcing these rules is a no-brainer, a safety net to protect lives. Furthermore, initiatives like Operation Highway Sentinel have already started apprehending those illegal CDL holders, highlighting the need for stringent controls.

Critics, predictably, cry racism at the notion of enforcing English proficiency, yet conveniently ignore the safety aspects. Compassion is one thing, but when lives are at stake, that argument doesn’t hold water. Every accident caused by a driver with an improperly issued license could have been prevented. Perhaps the liberal playbook includes blurring the lines between illegal and legal residency, hoping to eventually normalize these discrepancies. It’s about time they stopped playing games with American lives and started taking law, order, and common sense seriously.
