Media Fails to Acknowledge Trump’s Role in Hostage Release Win

The news this week should be a wake-up call to every American who still believes the mainstream media will give credit where credit is due: a U.S.-brokered agreement has finally brought home the remaining Israeli hostages, a breakthrough that was negotiated under the watch and initiative of President Trump’s team. This is not partisan theater for the cameras — this is lives saved after more than two years of agony, and the administration’s hands-on diplomacy was central to making it happen.

Hamas released the last group of living hostages and, under the terms of the ceasefire, Israel reciprocated with the release of thousands of Palestinian detainees — a bitter but necessary trade that ends immediate bloodshed and opens the door to a fragile peace. Families across Israel gathered to welcome loved ones back, and the country breathed a rare sigh of relief after the long nightmare that began on October 7, 2023.

Let’s not pretend the deal is tidy or that the work is finished: the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that recovering the remains of hostages killed in Gaza will be a massive, painful task that could take years given the wreckage and chaos on the ground. That reality should sting every American who cares about the dignity of the fallen and the duty of governments to bring them home.

So imagine the cognitive dissonance when a mainstream daytime show treats this rare diplomatic win like a surprise they cannot process. On The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin—one of the few co-hosts willing to speak plainly—acknowledged that Trump, Jared Kushner, and envoy Steve Witkoff deserved credit for sitting down and negotiating the release, while others on the panel reflexively circled the wagons or reduced the moment to moral hand-wringing. This is exactly the problem: an entire cultural elite so committed to its narrative that it can’t applaud a success even when one of its own admits the facts.

Conservative commentators and viewers weren’t the only ones to notice; the clip of that exchange has been replayed across social platforms, and even Dave Rubin flagged the awkwardness of The View’s reaction in his Direct Message segment, highlighting how the left’s instinct is often to minimize conservative wins. If the left wants credibility, it should start by acknowledging results instead of reflexive denial — Americans deserve honest debate, not performative outrage.

This is a moment for patriotism, not partisan scoring. President Trump and his team negotiated in a messy, dangerous theater where hesitation would have meant more suffering; conservatives should make no apology for celebrating a tangible victory that prioritized the lives of hostages and the safety of allies. The men and women who finally came home deserve our gratitude, and the political class that tries to bury those facts deserves the heat.

If the media won’t do its job, the people will. Call out the crocodile tears, demand accountability from networks that spin and omit, and insist on leaders who deliver results rather than excuses. Hardworking Americans of every stripe want peace, security, and the return of their fellow humans from captivity — now is the time to recognize achievement where it is earned and to hold our so-called betters to a higher standard.
