This revival tour says little about Democratic innovation, and much about their lack of fresh voices and viable future leaders. The irony isn’t lost on observers that the party which touts progress is stuck pulling the wax figures of leaders past out of mothballs.
Obama, despite his best efforts, represents an era of Democratic leadership that didn’t exactly leave the country with a legacy of strength and stability. His current advocacy, though commendable in its support for fatherhood and male empowerment, stands in stark contrast to the Democrats’ outreach efforts that seem more inclined to feebly pander than to foster genuine dialogue. Reality check for the Democrats: believing in the strength of America requires more than just saying it out loud. It demands results and leadership that reflects the values of liberty, individual rights, and a robust economy—none of which are found in the sideshow they’re currently running.
