Illinois Governor JB Pritzker got caught red-handed this week showing just how hypocritical Democrats can be. The billionaire governor went on NBC’s Meet the Press to attack Texas Republicans for gerrymandering. But host Kristen Welker did something amazing that liberal media almost never does.
Welker actually asked Pritzker a real question instead of giving him softball talking points. She pointed out that Illinois is one of the most gerrymandered states in America. Pritzker’s own state has some of the worst rigged maps in the entire country.
You could see Pritzker squirm when Welker called him out on his double standard. Here’s a Democrat who loves to lecture everyone else about democracy and fair elections. But his own backyard is a complete mess when it comes to fair representation.
The Illinois Republican Party jumped all over this clip and they were absolutely right to do so. They called out Pritzker’s F-rated maps and said he should fix his own house first. Why should anyone listen to lectures from a governor whose state is a textbook example of political corruption.
This is typical Democrat behavior that hardworking Americans are sick and tired of seeing. They point fingers at Republicans while doing the exact same things or worse in their own states. Pritzker thinks he can get away with this because the mainstream media usually protects Democrats.
But sometimes the truth slips through and we get to see these politicians for what they really are. Pritzker got embarrassed on national television because a reporter actually did her job. More journalists should follow Welker’s example and ask tough questions to both sides.
Democrats like Pritzker love to talk about threats to democracy when it suits their political agenda. But they stay silent about their own gerrymandering because it helps them win elections. This kind of hypocrisy is exactly why Americans don’t trust politicians anymore.
Pritzker also hinted he might run for president in 2028 during the same interview. Heaven help us if this hypocrite thinks he can lecture the whole country about democracy. Illinois voters should remember this embarrassing moment the next time his name is on the ballot.
