In the world of law and order, there seems to be no rest for the brave souls in I.C.E. Despite facing endless criticism and assorted attacks from their detractors, these agents remain steadfast in their mission. It’s almost laughable how the left continues to sling mud, almost as if they think that will stop I.C.E. and its commitment to securing our borders. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world of make-believe, the left seems to think it’s more heroic to criticize those trying to maintain order than to support efforts to actually keep America safe.
On another note, it looks like there’s serious talk about military action against narco-terrorists in Venezuela. Our good old friend, the military, under direction, isn’t sitting back while enemies lurk over our borders. Options are being drawn up, and the word on the street—or at least on the airwaves—is that we’re possibly gearing up for strikes. Now, doesn’t that just make someone’s day? It’s almost like Christmas for those who saw the danger coming a mile away and have been calling for some decisive action for years.
Take a minute to consider the example of magnanimity the left is setting. One would think that in the spirit of turning the page and embracing common decency, these folks would be shaking the hands of I.C.E. agents and thanking them for their service. But surprise, surprise, that’s not the case. It appears there’s a minority that is more interested in sensational headlines and clicks rather than supporting those who are literally on the frontlines. Of course, it wouldn’t be as good for their ratings if they admitted that it’s not exactly the agents’ fault that the world isn’t a place filled with rainbows and unicorns.
Meanwhile, within the hallowed halls of Congress, some daring souls might feel tempted to remind a Senator or two about what really matters. Why not just grab them gently by the tie and have a heart-to-heart about national security, some might cheerfully suggest? After all, it’s about time someone had an intervention with these folks infatuated with blaming federal officials. Who knows, maybe that’s all it would take—a little chat to set them on the right path back to reality and away from their computer screens.
As for the President, isn’t it grand that there are those out there who understand his plight and agree that defending the homeland is a priority? There’s a simple equation at play here: when drug boats and narco-terrorists point their dirty fingers at us, they shouldn’t be surprised when consequences follow. Hopefully, with continued measures, our shores will stay safe, and the influx of illegal substances will dwindle. It may be wishful thinking based on recent rhetoric, but one can always dream that leadership and duty will prevail.
