Charlie Kirk was gunned down last week at Utah Valley University in what authorities called a political assassination. Instead of mourning this young conservative leader, dozens of teachers across America took to social media to celebrate his death. These so-called educators showed their true colors by cheering violence against someone whose only crime was believing in conservative values.
The posts were absolutely disgusting. One Texas teacher called Kirk a racist and said good riddance. Another wrote that he hoped Kirk was roasting in hell. A teacher in California justified the murder by saying Kirk got what he deserved. These are the people we trust with our children every single day.
This is not cancel culture like what happens to conservatives. There is a huge difference between firing someone for believing biological boys should not play girls sports and firing someone who celebrates political murder. When teachers cheer for assassination, they cross a line that no decent person should ever cross. They are promoting violence against Americans who think differently than they do.
School districts across Texas, Florida, and California did the right thing by firing these teachers immediately. The Texas Education Agency is now investigating 180 complaints against educators who made sick comments. Governor Greg Abbott praised schools for taking quick action to remove these people from classrooms. Our kids deserve better than teachers who celebrate political violence.
Having different political views is fine in America. Teachers can believe what they want about taxes, immigration, or healthcare. But celebrating the murder of a conservative activist is not a political opinion. It is supporting terrorism and violence against fellow Americans. No teacher should keep their job after promoting assassination.
Teachers have a special responsibility to shape young minds and model good behavior. They are supposed to teach respect, tolerance, and peaceful discussion of different ideas. When they celebrate political murder, they teach children that violence is okay if you disagree with someone. This destroys everything education should stand for.
Now the same liberals who have been canceling conservatives for years are crying about free speech. They claim firing these teachers is authoritarian and wrong. Where was this concern when they fired coaches for refusing to use wrong pronouns or teachers for questioning mask mandates. Their fake outrage shows they only care about free speech when it protects their own hateful views.
America needs teachers who respect all students regardless of their family’s political beliefs. We cannot allow people who celebrate political assassinations to influence our children. These firings send a clear message that promoting violence has consequences. Every parent should demand their school district takes the same strong action to protect our kids from extremist teachers.
