Texas Democrats just pulled the most cowardly stunt in political history. These lawmakers literally ran away from their jobs and fled to Illinois like scared children. They abandoned the people who elected them just because they don’t like how the redistricting vote might go.
The Democrats are trying to block a perfectly legal redistricting plan that would give Republicans five more congressional seats. This is how democracy works when you win elections fair and square. But apparently Democrats think they can just throw tantrums and run away when they don’t get their way.
The biggest joke is that Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is calling Texas Republicans cheaters. This is the same guy whose state drew maps to guarantee 14 Democrat seats and only 3 Republican seats. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
What these Texas Democrats are doing is pure obstruction of democracy. They took an oath to serve the people of Texas but instead they’re hiding out in Chicago. The Texas Legislature needs two thirds of members present to do business and these cowards know it.
President Trump asked for this redistricting to be added to the special session agenda and that has Democrats terrified. They know Republicans are going to keep winning if we get fair maps that reflect how Texans actually vote. So they run away like spoiled brats.
Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have options to deal with these deserters. They could potentially remove them from office for abandoning their duties. These Democrats need to face real consequences for this shameful behavior.
While Democrats play games in Chicago, real Texans are dealing with serious issues from the deadly floods last month. Over 100 people died but all these Democrats care about is political power. They should be ashamed of themselves.
This is exactly why Americans are fed up with the radical left. When Democrats can’t win at the ballot box, they just pack up and leave. Every patriotic Texan should remember this betrayal when these cowards eventually slink back home.
