Another day, another tragic attack on innocent children and Christians in America. On Wednesday morning, 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, killing two precious children ages 8 and 10. Seventeen others were wounded in this senseless act of violence against our faith community.
The FBI is now investigating this as both domestic terrorism and an anti-Catholic hate crime. This was a deliberate attack on Christians and our values, plain and simple. Secretary Kristi Noem called Westman a “deranged monster,” and she’s absolutely right.
What the mainstream media won’t tell you is that Westman was born Robert but changed names in 2020 to identify as female. This follows a disturbing pattern we’ve seen before where troubled individuals struggling with identity issues turn to violence. We need to have honest conversations about mental health instead of pretending these connections don’t exist.
The shooter posted disturbing videos showing weapons covered in hateful messages targeting Christians, Jews, and even President Trump. These weren’t random acts but calculated attacks on everything decent Americans hold dear. The videos showed clear signs of radicalization that someone should have caught.
Westman had attended this same Catholic school years earlier and had family connections to it. This makes the betrayal even worse – attacking the very community that once welcomed them. These children deserved protection, not to become victims of someone’s twisted ideology.
Once again, criminals ignored every gun law on the books to carry out evil. No amount of new restrictions would have stopped this deranged individual from harming innocent people. What we need is better security at our schools and churches, not more laws that only hurt law-abiding citizens.
Our hearts break for these families who sent their children to school and will never see them come home again. These weren’t just statistics – they were 8 and 10-year-old kids with their whole lives ahead of them. Every parent in America feels this pain.
This attack represents everything wrong with our society today. We’ve abandoned God, ignored mental health crises, and allowed radical ideologies to flourish unchecked. Until we get serious about protecting our children and defending our faith, tragedies like this will continue to happen.
