President Trump is finally doing what D.C. politicians have been too weak to do for years. He’s taking real action to clean up our nation’s capital and get dangerous homeless camps off the streets. While liberals cry about it, Trump is putting public safety first.

The numbers tell the whole story. There are around 800 to 900 people living on D.C. streets right now. Most of these folks are hooked on hard drugs like meth, cocaine, and opioids. Many also have serious mental health problems that need real treatment.

Trump’s new plan gives homeless people three clear choices. They can go to a shelter, get the drug treatment they desperately need, or leave the city. If they refuse all help and keep breaking the law, they’ll face fines or jail time. It’s that simple.

For too long, bleeding heart liberals have thrown billions of taxpayer dollars at this problem. Their soft approach has completely failed while making our cities more dangerous. Working families can’t even walk down the street without fear of being attacked or harassed.

The President’s executive order focuses on something called civil commitment. This means getting seriously mentally ill and drug-addicted people into long-term treatment facilities. It’s the humane thing to do instead of letting them die on the streets.

Liberal activists are already screaming that this plan is too harsh. They claim there’s no legal way to arrest people who refuse help. These are the same people who created this mess by coddling criminals and drug addicts for decades.

Trump understands that real compassion means getting people the help they need, not enabling their destruction. Sometimes you have to be tough to save lives. Our cities belong to law-abiding citizens, not drug dealers and vagrants who terrorize neighborhoods.

This is exactly the kind of strong leadership America voted for. While Democrats waste time making excuses, President Trump is solving problems and making our streets safe again. It’s about time someone had the guts to clean up this disaster.
