President Trump’s administration is pushing hard to protect American jobs and safety. New tariffs on foreign cars and parts aim to boost U.S. factories. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted the media for criticizing these policies, saying they help everyday workers.
The 25% tariff targets vehicles and parts from countries like China. Leavitt says foreign companies cheat by using government money to undercut U.S. prices. These rules let American-made parts stay tax-free, rewarding companies that hire here. Over 1 million auto jobs depend on this, and the White House vows to save them.
Meanwhile, federal agents are rounding up illegal immigrants tied to violent gangs. Over 260 were sent to El Salvador this week, including members of a Venezuelan gang accused of brutal crimes. Leavitt says these deportations keep families safe, adding, “We won’t apologize for removing predators.”
Reporters questioned if the deportations broke court orders. Leavitt shot back, “Planes left before the judge’s paperwork came.” She accused critics of caring more about criminals than victims. “Shame on the media for siding with gangs over grieving parents,” she said sharply.
A CNN reporter pressed Leavitt on gang members’ rights. She fired back, “These monsters raped kids and killed a nursing student. Why aren’t you outraged?” She praised ICE agents for finally doing their job after years of “handcuffs” under Biden.
The White House says Trump’s policies have strong public support. Leavitt mocked “elitist journalists” for ignoring heartland voters. “D.C. reporters hate that we’re putting America first,” she said, announcing plans to kick legacy media from the briefing room.
Leavitt touted Trump’s record pace of executive orders, including slashing red tape on energy and trade. “Egg prices are high because Biden’s regulations failed,” she argued. The administration claims its moves will lower costs once global markets adjust.
Despite left-wing backlash, Leavitt says Trump won’t back down. “The president works all night fixing this mess,” she said, hinting at more tariffs ahead. With a Rose Garden event planned, the administration promises more wins for workers and families.
