Lastly, there’s the old but reliable B-52 Stratofortress, considered the workhorse of the fleet. Even though it’s the oldest of the bombers, it’s still a force to be reckoned with. These U.S. bombers have a global reach, capable of hitting any target in the world, but the recent tensions have prompted the U.K. to offer its bases for strikes on Iranian missile sites. This closer proximity will allow for shorter flight distances and increased operational tempo, giving the U.S. the edge it needs to keep the skies safe and secure.
