Elizabeth Warren showed her true colors on live television when she mocked concerns about New York City’s economic future. The Massachusetts senator went to bat for socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and his plan to tax the rich into oblivion. When a smart CNBC host challenged her on basic economics, Warren got nasty and condescending.
Host David Faber asked the obvious question that any thinking person would ask. If you keep raising taxes on wealthy New Yorkers, won’t they just pack up and move to places like Texas or Florida where they’re treated better. Warren completely ignored this common sense point and instead made jokes about billionaires going hungry.
This is exactly what’s wrong with the radical left today. They think money grows on trees and that successful people should just sit there and take whatever punishment Democrats want to dish out. Warren lives in a fantasy world where rich people have no choice but to stay put and fund her socialist dreams.
The truth is that wealthy Americans already pay way more than their fair share. New York’s top earners already pay about 15 percent of their income in city and state taxes combined. Meanwhile, they create jobs and fund the services that everyone else depends on.
Warren is backing a 33-year-old socialist with zero experience to run America’s largest city. Zohran Mamdani has never run so much as a hot dog stand, but Warren thinks he’s ready to manage an $100 billion budget. This is what happens when ideology trumps common sense.
Cities like New York are already losing businesses and residents to red states with better policies. Florida and Texas keep growing while blue states keep shrinking because people vote with their feet. Warren’s tax-and-spend approach will only make this exodus worse.
The working families Warren claims to care about will be the ones who suffer most when businesses leave. When companies move to Texas, they take their jobs with them. When wealthy residents flee to Florida, they take their tax dollars too.
This CNBC interview showed Warren at her worst – arrogant, out of touch, and completely clueless about how the real economy works. She got schooled by basic facts and responded with snark instead of substance. No wonder she probably won’t do that show again anytime soon.
