A report from 1948 detailing 100 UFO sightings from the previous year, and mention of a boomerang-shaped UFO that the military got their hands on. If only they had Instagram back then! Such reports are a classic reminder that the allure of the unknown has been a human fascination long before the advent of smartphones.
And if that’s not enough to pique your interest, there’s a photograph from 1996 taken by astronauts aboard the Shuttle Columbia. This picture adds yet another layer to the complex tale of unidentified objects in low Earth orbit. It’s almost like a cosmic Where’s Waldo for adults, but with much higher stakes. With this being the fourth trove released by the administration in just two months, one can’t help but wonder if this is just a warming-up act, or if there’s a grand reveal in our future.
