They even rallied fifty Democrats to sign a letter demanding the Justice Department and FBI investigate hanging deaths of Black Americans as potential lynchings, even while officials have determined most of these recent cases are suicides. One case in Mississippi that is actually being investigated as a homicide already has a suspect arrested, which might ruin the narrative they seem so eager to construct.
The real question here is: why is the Squad so determined to label every tragedy as a manifestation of racial violence? Could it be that the truth doesn’t serve their agenda as effectively as fiction does? It’s almost as if they’re searching for racism under every rock and in every news story, just so they can dredge up a new crisis to keep their followers in a perpetual state of outrage. Let’s call this what it is: an exercise in racial sensationalism, served up to keep their political coffers filled and their supporters riled up.
Over the years, America has indeed faced issues with racial injustice. No sensible person would deny that. But the notion that there’s a resurgence of racial terror in present-day America simply doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. It would serve everyone better if the energy spent on stoking racial animus were redirected toward promoting unity and finding solutions to the real challenges that affect all communities. It seems as if some prefer shadows to sunlight, continually clinging to narratives that cast America in the darkest possible light.
